My background is accountancy (I even run my own practice) but I know that not everyone is fortunate to have the skills, or confident enough, to deal with the financial side of their business. I see the struggles every day.  Phrases I hear all the time from business owners are ‘oh I didn’t realise that’, ‘if I’d known that at the time’ or ‘I thought I was doing the right thing’.   

Hence Accounting Confidence Coach was born. 

You didn’t know how to read or write until someone taught you how, so why should you be expected to know everything about running the financial side of a business? Often people don’t like to ask because they think they ‘should’ know and it will make them look silly. 

I’ll let you into a little secret…remember at school when you were puzzled by something but everyone else seemed to get it so you sat there quietly hoping the penny would drop?  Then some brave soul put up their hand and admitted they hadn’t a scooby do what was going on and suddenly the whole class was breathing a sigh of relief because they were equally baffled but just better at bluffing…business isn’t a whole lot different.  Fake it ‘til you make it isn’t that what they say?  Unfortunately, you can’t really do that when it comes to money, or you could end up in a big mess.

Running a business is not just about the fun stuff that you like to do (and let’s face it – that is the reason you started your business), it’s about all the other stuff that goes with it too, from finance to social media and everything in between.

It’s important, even if you have an accountant, for you understand the numbers in your business.  You need to know that even though you have a positive bank balance, you might not necessarily be making a profit or whether some products/services are making or loosing you money.

The aim of Accounting Confidence Coach is to take you by the hand and walk you through these challenges.  Our growing offering will consist of free guides, short courses, more in depth courses and coaching in small groups or on a 1-2-1 basis.  We are only starting out on this journey so why not join us and build your confidence along the way.
